Policy Regarding Novel Coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19

In the event of a cancellation, WordCamp Detroit 2020 will issue a full refund to all ticket buyers.

This is our official policy on cancellation regarding novel coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 COVID-19.

In the event WordCamp Detroit 2020 is canceled, we will make every effort to notify attendees including, but not limited to, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and email.

We will cancel WordCamp Detroit 2020 if:

  • WordCamp Central mandates cancellation
  • Wayne State University cancels our reservation
  • Michigan Department of Health and Human Services recommends cancellation of large gatherings
  • Wayne County, MI Department of Health, Human & Veterans Services recommends cancellation of large gatherings
  • City of Detroit, MI Health Department recommends cancellation of large gatherings

Attendee Responsibility

Do not attend WordCamp Detroit 2020 if:

  • You have recently traveled out of the country
  • You have come in contact with someone you suspect has COVID-19
  • You experience symptoms of COVID-19
  • You test positive for COVID-19 or any other illness

Precautions at the Event

We will strive to provide hand sanitizer at the event. Hand sanitizer should be at least 60% alcohol to be effective.

  • Wash your hands and use soap after using the bathroom, after eating, and after touching your face.
  • Cough or sneeze into your elbow or shoulder, not your hands.
  • Do not touch your face.
  • Do not shake hands. Instead, bump elbows, salute, or bow respectfully.

Refunds

If WordCamp Detroit 2020 is canceled, attendees will be refunded for tickets purchased.
